CakeMix - Nov 13, 2023

Here is the latest version of CakeMix, for November 13, 2023!

It's a zip file so just unzip it somewhere on your computer and then run one of the links in the folder to use Desktop or VR mode.

This is the free censored version, which means clothing doesn't come off. If you want nudity, please consider supporting the project on Patreon, where I update frequently.

This is the last update that will be strictly for the Character Creator. I've already started working on the sex and posing system so the early parts of that will be in the next update. Also coming down the line are guys and trans (futa, if you like). I've been working on them to get the sex system ready; they're just not in the Character Creator yet.

Here's some of what's in this update since the last itch.io censored version:

  • New Character Loader: Improved the file loader (finally!) - Now it looks nicer, plus you can see photos of the characters so you know who you're loading. You can take new photos in Desktop mode on the Save screen, or in VR with the phone camera that pops up. Make sure you save your character first before taking the photo, just to make sure it's all saved properly. I'll make some fixes to that later so it's smoother.
  • Hairstyles: Added two new hairstyles, and made it less likely for mohawk and half-shaved styles to get chosen when making random characters. I mean, who doesn't love a hot babe with a mohawk? But you know, it kept choosing it way too often.
  • Skin Color Slider: Added a slider to the Options that allows you to set a preferred average skin color for generated characters. Or, check the box that makes it random and you'll get all types.
  • Improved Sliders: Fixed the way some slider worked (weirdly), and now all shape sliders work as intended. Adjustment sliders (mouth size, nose height, things like that) are now included in random generation, so there are more varieties that come out of it.
  • Added New Shapes: There are some new teeth shapes, nose shapes, etc. Also added a few more adjustment sliders for the nose.
  • Skin Improvements: Made some changes to skin textures so they look better.
  • Color Pickers: Added some color pickers to several things, notably skin, hair and makeup options. Now you can have even more control over the color of those sections.
  • UI Scale: Added a UI scaling slider to the Options screen, so if you like your User Interface larger or smaller, there you go.
  • T-Pose: Made the T-Pose in the Creator stay on while you want it on, instead of it turning off every time you click a new button.
  • Options Screen: Improved the Options section so it takes up less space and is easier to use.
  • Fixed Decimal Places: Some people were having trouble loading characters, because the files were saved with commas for decimal places, and not the period we use here in the US. I fixed it so it should now load those characters just fine.
  • Character Generation Details: Now when you choose to generate a new random character, the options are right there to choose before generation.
  • Beauty Standard Slider: Added a new slider to the Character Generator for controlling subtle (or not so subtle) beauty details. All the way to the left will stick closer to the modern conventional beauty standard, and as you move the slider to the right you'll get more varied results, particularly in the eyes, nose, and mouth areas but also some other things. I'm a big fan of variety, so I usually dial it up a bit, but now you can you decide how you like it.
  • Shaved Head: Made it so if you choose what used to be the Bald hairstyle, you can now have a shaved scalp with some hair, or pull the Transparency slider all the way down to have full bald.
  • New Logo: Changed the logo to better reflect the direction CakeMix is moving towards.
  • Graphics Settings - now you can set windowed mode, resolutions, quality settings, etc. The resolutions buttons are a little wonky so you might have to press them a couple of times to get them to register.
  • Nail Polish - in the Makeup tab on the sidebar you'll see a new option for nails. You can do fingers and toes, with some special sliders and options to make them how you want.
  • Cheeks Slider - there's a new cheekbones slider in Face/Extras. It helps make faces a bit chubbier. :)
  • Help Screen - there's a new help screen in VR mode, to make it more clear which buttons do what.
  • Sounds - I added a couple of sounds, to the Creator interface (when you click on a main category button), and in VR when you turn the magic floating lights on and off. And yes, if you didn't know about doing that, just grab any light in VR with your grip button and then click trigger to turn it on or off.
  • There's More: I'm sure I've forgotten something here. I added and changed a bunch of things.
  • Tons of Bug Fixes - yup, there are always bugs, and yup, I'll always keep fixing them.

VR mode runs great on PC with a Quest 2 headset, and it's been tested to run on cards all the way down to a GTX 970 (although some things will cause slowdown if your card is that old, so be aware). Also, if you have another VR headset besides Quest2, please let me know how it works.

Enjoy!
